Types of communication

It is a question of characterizing, in a simple and if possible visual way, the different types of communication:

Normal Communication

Alphonse and Jane have a normal non-conflictual relationship. If they talk, their exchanges look like this graph

Conflictual Communication

Alphonse and Jane now have a conflictual relationship. Each one speaks at the same time or interrupts the other, leaving him or her no time to speak. It looks like a dialogue of the deaf and their exchanges resemble this graph :

From the conflictual to the normal relationship

This graphical representation is a little too simple to characterize what a conflict is, but it allows us to understand that the first method to switch from a conflict mode to a normal mode will be to replace simultaneous communication by alternating communication. If this first step is successful, it will be the beginning of de-escalation and return to normal.
